F.A.O. Regulations

ISPM REGULATIONS – F.A.O. 2002

SPM Regulations – 15. Guidelines for regulating wood packaging material in international trade – were approved in 2002 by FAO to reduce spreading of forest parasites from raw wood employed in international trade. Exporters must certify that the packaging material has undergone fumigation or thermal treatments to become pest-free.

Why use cardboard pallets?
Following ISPM regulations, cardboard pallets are recommended especially when the recipient country requires goods to be delivered on wood pest-free pallets (USA, Canada, China, Australia, Turkey, Brazil and many more have already adopted this standard). Cardboard pallets require no fumigation or thermal treatment to comply with regulations.
